Joseph Breitenbach is an associate attorney with Matovich, Keller & Murphy, joining the law firm in August of 2009. As an attorney in Billings, Joseph enjoys a civil litigation practice in the areas of insurance defense, employment law, and workers’ compensation law. He is a member of the American, State and Yellowstone Area Bar Associations and is admitted to practice before all Montana state courts and the U.S District Court for the District of Montana.

Joseph was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and grew up just east of Billings, Montana. He earned a Bachelors degree in Mass Communication and graduated magna cum laude from Montana State University-Billings in 2003. Joseph then attended law school at the University of Montana School of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate degree in 2009.

During law school, Joseph was an active member in Phi Delta Phi and the Rural Advocacy League, and was his graduating class’ representative on the Executive Committee of the Student Bar Association. During his final year of school, he interned at ASUM Legal Services, where he represented university students, primarily in misdemeanor criminal, landlord/tenant, and family law cases. Joseph also interned during his three years of law school at the Williams Law Firm in Missoula, Montana. While there, he worked primarily in civil litigation, including insurance defense, employment law, and medical malpractice defense.

Outside of the office, Joseph enjoys golfing and spending time with his family and friends.
