Brooke Bradley Murphy was born in Missoula, Montana, but grew up on the West Coast, primarily in Portland, Oregon.  She returned to her Native Montana to attend college at Montana State University in Bozeman in 1992.  Brooke graduated with honors in Business Marketing in 1997.  In 2000, she obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Montana School of Law.  While in law school, Brooke was a member of the School of Law’s National Moot Court Team, for which she was selected as a National Member of the Order of Barristers.  She was also a recipient of the Carol Mitchell Award, which recognizes a student dedicated to and demonstrating excellence in the study and practice of dispute resolution.

Following law school, Brooke Murphy joined the law firm of Matovich, Keller & Murphy.  She became a shareholder in the law firm in 2006.  Brooke is currently a member of the Defense Research Institute, Montana Defense Trial Lawyers Association, International Association of Defense Counsel, and her state and local bar associations.  She has served on the board and as the secretary/treasurer of the Yellowstone Area Bar Association.

As an attorney in Billings, Montana, Brooke Murphy focuses her practice on civil litigation, including commercial and insurance defense, employment law, class action litigation, insurance coverage issues, and products liability litigation.  She has served as lead attorney in a number of litigated cases ranging from insurance matters to contract disputes.  In addition to all Montana state courts, Brooke is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Brooke Murphy has been selected for inclusion in Mountain States Super Lawyers & Rising Stars since 2008. Super Lawyers recognizes only 2.5% of lawyers under the age of 40. She has also been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the fields of Products Liability Litigation and Commercial Litigation since 2009.

Brooke is married to Gavin Murphy. When not in the office, she enjoys spending time chasing after her three young children: Max, Isabella, and Brighton.
